| The social event of the season for Allison (and family, too) was the Chinese Children Charities Open House on September 20. Allison was elated to see Mr. James Jin and also Raymond, very good friends who helped her immensely when she was in China. It was great to see Lily, Joshua and the rest of the CCC staff, too! | |||

| Allison spent the weekend in Colorado Springs on August 10/11. On the drive she surveyed the area affected by the Hayman fire back in June. While in Colorado Springs she visited the Garden of the Gods and the North Pole. Acknowledging that it was 135 days until Christmas she felt Santa would have adequate time to process her request. | |||

| The devastation left in the wake of the Hayman fire is sobering. | |||

| The Hayman fire was Colorado’s largest ever wildfire in recorded history at more than 115,000 acres. n one particularly devastating run it burned nearly 60,000 acres and ran for 17 miles in one day. One section on June 17 was observed spreading ½ mile in just four minutes. The fuel moistures are the lowest in recorded history, adding to the unpredictability of the fire. | |||
